Directions to STEIM
There are 2 ways to reach us from Schiphol:
- Take a taxi to Achtergracht 19 (ca € 35)
- From the train station located at Schipol, buy a trainticket (either from the machine or from the ticket windows) to Amsterdam Central Station (ca € 3,80)
From Amsterdam Central Station you can:
- Either take a taxi to Achtergracht 19 (ca € 14)
- Or take tram 4 or 25 (which you will find in front of the main exit of the train station. A ticket (€ 2,80) is valid for one hour and can be purchased on the tram. Disembark at the stop Frederiksplein. Go left (north) and walk through the small public garden. At the traffic lights you will see an Albert Heijn (popular Dutch grocery store) to your right, turn right on to that street (Frederiksplein). Keep walking until the street name changes to ‘Achtergracht’. This is a canal filled with houseboats. (note: you will also pass Frederiksplein number 19 - this is NOT STEIM, keep walking). We are at number 19 on the north side of the canal.
- It is also possible to reach us by subway/metro if you have an OV-chip transport card. Take the metro from Central Station to Weesperplein, the third stop. Once you arrive there, disembark the metro station and walk west along Sarphatistraat. You will cross a bridge over the Amstel river. Make a right after the bridge and follow the river north until you reach the Achtergracht (a canal connected to the river). We are on the north side of the canal, number 19.
Directions to the STEIM guesthouse
Utrechtsedwarsstraat 134, Amsterdam
The STEIM guesthouse is around the block from STEIM's main entrance on Achtergracht 19. It is on the next street north, the Utrechtsedwarsstraat, number 134. To reach the guesthouse follow similar directions as described above. From Schiphol:
- Take a taxi to Utrechtsedwarsstraat 134 (ca € 35)
- From the train station located at Schipol, buy a trainticket (either from the machine or from the ticket windows) to Amsterdam Central Station (ca € 3,80)
From Amsterdam Central Station you can:
- Take a taxi to Utrechtsedwarsstraat 134 (ca € 14)
- Or take tram 4 or 25 (see above). When you arrive at the traffic lights, instead of making a right turn towards the Albert Heijn, keep walking one street further north along the Utrechtsestraat. Make a right there on to the Utrechtsedwarsstraat. The guesthouse is on your right, number 134
- By metro, follow the instructions above. When you reach the Achtergracht canal keep walking one street further north along the river. Make a left there at the Utrechtsedwarsstraat. The guesthouse will be on your left, number 134.
